Beyoncé took home the biggest award, Album of the Year, for her country album Cowboy Carter on February 2nd at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Since the Grammys, there has been a lot of debate surrounding if this award was deserved or not. While some think the other nominees were much more deserving of the Album of the Year award, most news sources agree that Beyoncé’s win was much deserved.
Cowboy Carter, along with winning Album of the Year, also took home Country Album of the Year. Winning AOTY was a huge milestone for one of the most famous artists in the music industry, and artists such as Post Malone have commented that “she deserves [the win] 100%!” Beyoncé winning Album of the Year for her very first country album is extremely impressive and clearly shows how amazing her album was. However, when going up against artists like Taylor Swift, Billie Eillish, Charlie XCX, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter, it makes sense people would question her win.
While there are many who believe other artists were more deserving, the 13,000 voting members of the Recording Academy clearly believed Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter was the most deserving!
