Our Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of making history this year. With their victory over the 49ers in last year’s Super Bowl, the Chiefs joined an exclusive club: back-to-back champions. Out of the eight teams in NFL history to achieve consecutive championships, no franchise has ever managed a three-peat other than the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Starting this season undefeated at 9-0, a three-peat seems more likely than ever. Our record is a testament to this team’s ability to rise to the occasion, as they have faced many of the most explosive offenses in the league. Although Patrick Mahomes has had a shaky start, the defense is playing at a championship-caliber level, looking even better than last year. They rank in the top five in opponent yards per game and total touchdowns allowed, a unit that unifies in the face of adversity. If the offense reaches its full potential, the Chiefs could not only complete the three-peat but might also accomplish the first fully undefeated season in NFL history. This would mark Mahomes’ fourth Super Bowl in five years, an accolade that some analysts argue would cement his place as the greatest NFL quarterback to ever play the game.
