We are halfway through the 2025 NFL season, so which teams have exceeded expectations and which teams have disappointed? The biggest shock of them all: the Indianapolis Colts. Led by quarterback Daniel Jones, Indy has shocked the league with their dominant offense, a relentless defense, and a record of 8-2. Jones, traded from the New York Giants, leads the league in passing yards and QBR. Another standout quarterback this year, and MVP favorite, is Drake Maye, who has led the Patriots to a commanding 9-2 record, their best start since the Tom Brady era. Another shocker: the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-5, despite a great season by Patrick Mahomes. This year’s narrative is the complete opposite of last year, as the Chiefs are winless in the one-possession games that they were undefeated in last year. The Chiefs currently stand outside of the playoff picture and have a lot of work to do if they want to make a run for the Lombardi. Furthermore, the Chiefs have been crowned AFC West champions nine consecutive times, but the stampeding Broncos are poised to end this streak. Currently leading the AFC West, the Broncos and Bo Nix stand at a strong 9-2 record, and are hoping to go back to their first Super Bowl since 2015. This NFL season has been defined by newcomers, upsets, and unexpected storylines that are setting the stage for a thrilling second half, especially for the AFC West and our hometown Chiefs.
