The Ryder Cup is a highly anticipated golf tournament held every two years between teams from the United States and Europe. This year, the Ryder Cup ran from September 26 to 28, and over those three days, every match win earned one point — with different formats used each day to test depth and strategy. This year was anything but successful for Team USA. The weekend of golf was embarrassing, highlighted by an abysmal performance in the 4-ball format by Team USA and an extremely unclassy American crowd. American fans threw drinks at Rory McIlroy’s wife, heckled McIlroy himself, and were a general nuisance to the European players. As for Team USA’s performance, it was a total fiasco. It all started with Keegan Bradley’s choice not to play in the tournament and the picks for matchups in the tournament. His player selections cost the team countless points during the 4-ball format. In addition, Bryson DeChambeau had a confrontation with European player Justin Rose regarding his comments to his caddy. At the end of the second day, Europe was leading 11.5 to 4.5, completely dominating the USA. However, the USA had a remarkable comeback in the singles matches, making the score just 15 to 13. But unfortunately, it was too little too late. Europe prevailed, but Team USA did have an incredible individual performance despite the many ups and downs.
