Civil violations are, by law, required to be addressed in court, yet the federal officers of ICE blatantly ignore this.
Platform Ventures is an Entrepreneurial Investment Firm in Kansas City that currently manages 3.6 Billion dollars. This firm also has a massive warehouse that is in the process of being sold to ICE. The million-square-foot warehouse is located in south-Kansas City in front of what used to be Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base.
It is highly likely that the federal government will use this warehouse as a detention center. A detention center of this size in Kansas City is a clear sign that ICE is planning to become present here. It has been seen all over the news and social media what ICE has done to the community in Minneapolis and the rest of the state of Minnesota. They will without a doubt behave the same way here.
It is unknown if the sale can be stopped, as negotiations have been finished according to a statement Platform Ventures made to KMBC 9 News. Due to the rumors of a detention center, the city has passed a moratorium against non-municipal detention centers. However, one cannot be sure whether or not the moratorium will hold if the federal government decides to step in. Only time will tell.
